Combining democratic wisdom with executive efficacy, we operate in a worker-capitalized model, reinvesting the profits of labor into the people who drive our economy and creating a better model of workforce development and wholesome food production.
Economy as an Ecosystem
Ecosystems and economies are both massive, complex, and cyclical systems that rely on a careful balance of inputs and harvest. Our highest priority is to foster a healthier local economy from food production to labor cultivation, increasing the skills of our working neighbors and providing them the incentive structure to pursue their passions without undermining productive potential.
From food production, to home services, to product invention and development, there is a massive untapped potential in the abilities and interests of our working public. Our model reduces the work week of every worker to three or four days, and provides them with as much training and access to tools as we can afford to offer. We believe cultivating the individual worker’s talents and giving them the time to pursue their interests will pay off spectacularly in both community works and profitability.
Worker-Capitalized Business Model
I have worked in nearly all aspects of the home service industry. There is a tremendous value potential not just in providing these services, but in providing an ethical and trustworthy framework that gives homeowners the peace of mind that they are not constantly being ripped off. The two pillars of this are price transparency and worker incentives. You may trust your local contractor, but how many times have you heard them blame problems on their labor? Do they publish all of their prices so you know you aren’t being up-charged for your success? I do not make excuses. The buck stops at the top and the top alone; If my crews are making mistakes or short-cutting their work, that is a failure of leadership not of labor. Workers do as they are incentivized to do; My business charter ensures that my success is their success, as every single permanent worker will receive ownership shares of the company no less than 80% of what leadership holds. They are incentivized not just by earning and growth potential, but by being given a voice in a democratic model of operation that balances executive efficiency with the wisdom of the crowd. The charter that outlines this is not yet ready for publication, but will be published before full scale operation begins. Public comment will be welcomed.
The Ecosystem: Food, Energy, and Community Building
Food Production
Food and shelter are the most basic needs of every human. Home ownership means that our shelter is stable and assured; We can leverage that assurance to make certain that like our homes lack of food will never be a worry. This gives every property owner a means to give back to their community in a way that costs them nothing and not only saves you money on your grocery bill but grows produce that far exceeds the quality and freshness traditional grocery stores could never afford to sell.
Invention and Product Development
With access to a healthy work-life balance and the tools we use to shape and develop our world, people will naturally begin to use their free time to develop ideas and interests. Whether it’s art, software, tools and equipment, or avenues not yet imagined, I believe in the creative and productive potential of a workforce not burdened by the pressures of fear and desperation. I already have over a dozen solid ideas for valuable inventions related to home service work, and notebooks full of hundreds more with potential. All of the proceeds of my invention will be reinvested in the company, while those of our workers will be guaranteed to largely benefit the inventor.
Community Development
Once we have established a wholesome and nourishing food supply chain that is not beholden to the cost of fossil fuels, the plan is to expand into construction and land development with a focus on affordable housing built by skilled craftspeople. We build houses the way we do because you can pay your labor less, meaning more profit for the Owners. As our workers are our primary owners, and the proceeds of their labor our capital, housing construction techniques will see constant innovation that both drives up quality while driving down cost. This will likely take a decade or more before we can begin, but it is a long-term goal.
Community Support
Jobs are the engine that drives society forward, but the most accessible jobs pay too little for anyone to survive on and rely on threats and coercion to compel labor. Entry level employment that positively incentivizes labor brings up the floor on which the rest of us rely for a comfortable grocery budget, affording more people the ability to participate towards a meaningful economy that serves not just the interest of billionaires buying up all our farm land.
